How to Avoid the 10 Most Common Makeup Mistakes on Your Wedding Day!

All eyes will be on you! Make sure every inch is worth of close-up attention.

1. DO USE PROPER SKIN CARE
Give nature a helping hand by starting a
basic skin care program at least several
months prior to your wedding. Daily
care, a morning and evening regimen of
cleansing, freshening, and moisturizing,
primes your face for the sheer makeup
look brides love!
2. DO USE A GOOD WATERPROOF
MASCARA
Undoubtedly, this is one of the happiest
moments of your life and you may shed a
few tears of joy. The last thing you want
to happen is the photographer taking a
picture of your makeup leaving your
face before you leave the alter.
3. DO USE LIPLINER & LIPSTICK
The ultimate in kissable lips…Select a
lipstick rich in moisturizers and
emollients. Select a shade that is dark
enough for photos. Line first, use brush to
apply color, and re-apply for staying
power. Add a touch of gloss for shine.
Avoid heavily frosted lipstick.
4. DO USE TRANSLUCENT FACE
POWDER
Loose powder sets your makeup and
provides a matte finish. Helps control oil
break-through and shine. Always select
powder in the shade closest to your
natural skin tone. Pressed powder is
portable so use it throughout the day to
pat away shine. Shake applicator after
each use to prevent powder glaze and oil
buildup.
5. DO WEAR THE CORRECT
FOUNDATION SHADE
Gives skin a smooth even-toned finish as
it guards against environmental elements.
Apply with a sponge using light sweeping
strokes, blending well, especially along
the jaw line and hairline. Do not select a
foundation shade to match the back of
your hand. Select one which closely
blends along your jaw line - & never
put on your neck.
6. DO USE COLOR HARMONY
Color is the valuable that adds sparkle to
your bridal look. To harmonize your
color, simply choose makeup and
wardrobe attire with a single undertone,
either vibrantly cool, or radiantly warm.
Make sure you harmonize lip color,
cheek color, and nail color.
7. DO USE CORRECT BLUSHER
APPLICATION
Blusher should provide a nice glow,
never streaked or blotchy. For
photography, your blush needs to be
darker than normal to have it appear
“natural” in the photos. For sheer and
even application, use a Blush brush, begin
applying at the base of the hairline near
the ear and blend forward using a soft,
large circular or up and down feathery
strokes. Wherever you lay the applicator
first deposits the most color so be careful.
Then lightly dust face powder over your
entire face & blusher to set the
foundation & tone.
8. DO WEAR A FRAGRANCE
Women’s fragrance is her most intimate
trademark, the invisible part of herself
that makes a lasting impression on other
people’s senses. The scents you select are
your own personal signatures. Never
overdo your aroma. Make sure your
fragrance doesn’t arrive before you do!
Use fragrance layering techniques to apply
body creams, dusting powders, and
colognes. The scents you select will either
be silent and suggestive, feverish and
magical, or romantic and sensual.
9. DO WEAR MAKEUP
Use the tricks of the beauty trade to
accentuate, enhance, and define your best
features. Glamour can be applied to
compliment any face shape and
complexion, regardless of facial contours
or bone structure. Minor imperfections
and blemishes may be neatly corrected by
using a concealer. The catchword is
experiment several times prior to your
wedding date.
10. DO USE A PROFESSIONAL
Beautiful skin care and glamour isn’t
just something you buy – it’s something
you learn. At Mary Kay, we don’t just sell
you skin care, we teach you through
personal instruction. Learning the right
beauty regimen customized for your skin
type and proper glamour application will
guarantee you’ll look your loveliest on
your wedding day.

June is for Brides

June is for Brides and here are some Picture Perfect Tips.

1. Match the glamour of your makeup with your dress.
2. Remove your glasses 30 minutes prior to picture taking to avoid indentions.
3. Foundation should match your skin tone and be blended 2 fingers below the jaw line.
4.Use a matte color lipstick. Steer clear of frosted or super-glossy lipsticks!
5.Outline and color- in entire lip with lip liner. The color will stay on longer.
6. Go natural on the nails. Shear pink or french manicures are best for brides.
7. Blend all makeup very well. Hard lines will be accentuated on film.
8. Use natural, matte colors in your makeup; use beautiful soft colors on your Wedding Day not dramatic dark ones.
9. For the most professional application of makeup, use professional brushes instead of sponges.
10. Begin a new skin care routine one month prior to your big day. This will give you time to see if you will have a reaction and give your skin time to look its best. Do not use anything out of the usual the day of the wedding. It could cause an unexpected reaction!
